3D model on Sketchfab

This course work requires me to scan the object I choose. The wax model I made during the first semester was chosen. For the surface scanning task, Artec Eve scanner was used and edited on Artec Studio software. After all, work is done the 3D model was uploaded on SketchFab where can publish, share, discover, buy and sell 3D, VR, and AR content.

Artec Scanning

Artec Eva scanner uses a combination of projected light patterns and cameras to record objects and surfaces. 3D polygonal models can be reconstructed by triangulation multiple scans. This scanner is a high-resolution scanner and suit for the bigger object.

For the surface scanning of the wax model that I made in the first semester, Artec Eve scanner was used. I and my classmate helped each other to scan.

After finishing editing on Artec Studio software I exported files as OBJ and import them into Z brush. In Z brush, the objects are added some polypaint.

Photogrammetry is a method of gathering reliable measurements and data about an object using photographic images. Modern photogrammetry software can quickly and automatically triangulate large image sets, resulting in the creation of complex point cloud datasets. These can be used to inform the reconstruction of a fully textured 3D surfaces model. Galaxy A51 was used to capture sets of overlapping photographs of the wax model.

Agisoft Metashape software was used to complete the 3D reconstruction process, working through each of the key stages (sparse cloud, dense cloud, mesh) while optimizing quality settings to ensure the best results. The file was exported as OBJ and imported into Zbrush. In Zbrush, the objects are added some polypaint.
